Portable Applications for your USB Stick

What is a portable program ? : A portable program is a piece of software that you can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any other computer. It can be your email program, your browser, system recovery tools or even an operating system. The coolest part about it is that all of your data and settings are always stored on a thumbdrive so when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind. This means the IT Department need never know you used your own software, nor have you allowed viruses into the company’s computer. It also means your software (much of it) is with you at all times.

All free.

Google “portable apps” and you will find many outlets. For example <<http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/portable-software-usb/>>; or <<portableapps.com>>.

There you will find Firefox, OpenOffice (free alternative to Microsoft Office and docs are compatible), PDF Viewers, Mozilla Thunderbird (Email program), Skype, Sudoku and many others.

Go load up or give us a call and we will build a ‘traveling suite’ to your specifications.
